Ultrasonic Clamp On Flow Meter utilizes two transducers that function as both ultrasonic transmitters and receivers. The transducers are clamped on the outside of a closed pipe at a distance from each other. The transducers can be mounted in V method in which case the ultrasound transverses the pipe twice, or W method in which case the ultrasound transverses the pipe four times, or in Z method in which case the transducer are mounted on opposite sides of the pipe and the ultrasound transverses the pipe only once. The selection of mounting method depends on pipe and liquid characteristics. When flow meter works, two transducers transmit and receive the ultrasonic signal which travels firstly downstream and then travels upstream. Because ultra sound travels faster downstream than upstream, there will be a difference of time of flight (delta t). When the flow is still, the time difference (delta t) is zero. Therefore, as long as we know the time of flight both downstream and upstream, we can work out the time difference and the flow velocity (V) and flow v (Q) the follow-ing formula.

Disadvantages:
Transmitter and receivers roles are constantly switched by electronics. Ultrasonic pulses travelling in the direction of the flow, travel path between transducer in a shorter period of time than pulses travelling against the flow. This is because the flow speeds up pulses travelling downstream but slows down pulses travelling upstream.

Digital Diesel Flow Meter are used for flow measurement of low, medium viscosity fluids such as diesel, fuel, lubricant oil and other special fluids compatible with the constructions materi-al. Electronic card with microprocessor enables accurate LCD dis-play and working calibration of the flow meter.
Oval gear flow meters are a type of positive displacement meter. As liquid through the meter, pair of oval shaped gears is forced to rotate by the flow of the liquid. These gears mesh together & force a finite amount of liquid through the meter. A sensor or mechanical drive detects the rotation of the gears to determine the displaced volume of liquid. The faster the flow rate, the faster the gear turns.
The Oval fear flow meter comprises oval - shaped, geared rotors which rotate within a housing of specified geometry. Fluid differential pressure causes the inter-meshing gears to rotate, trapping a `pocket' of fluid between the gear and the outer housing and subsequently emp-tying the fluid pocket into the downstream flow. Capillary action of the metered fluid forms a liquid seal.
Each pocket holds a precise and known volume of fluid so counting the pocket frequency gives a measurement of the volumetric flow rate. This is typically achieved by embed-ding magnets in the rotors, which then actu-ate a reed switch or provide a pulse output as they rotate and thus flow is measured electronically.

Magnetic Flow Meter is based on Faraday's law of electromagnetism to measure the flow of conductive liq-uids. This flow meter micro-processor based processing electronic unit. LCD unit to display flow rate & total-ized.
Magnetic flow meters works based on faraday's law of electromag-netic induction. According to this principle, when a conductive medium passes through a magnetic field B, a voltage E is generat-ed which is proportional to the velocity V of the medium, the den-sity of the magnetic field and the length of the conductor.
In a magnetic flow meter, a current is applied to wire coils mounted within or outside the meter body to generate a magnetic fields. The liquid flowing through the pipe acts as the conductor and this in-duces a voltage which is proportional to the average flow velocity. . This voltage is detected by sensing electrodes mounted in the mag-flow meter body and sent to a transmitter which calculates the vol-umetric flow rate based in the pipe dimensions.
To apply this principle to flow measurement with a magnetic flow meter, it is necessary first to state that the fluid being measured must be electrically conductive for the Faraday principle to apply. As applied to the design of magnetic flow meters, Faraday's Law in-dicates that signal voltage (E) is dependent on the average liquid velocity (V) the magnetic field strength (B) and the length of the conductor (D) (which in this instance is the distance between the electrodes)
The Obstruction to the flow is almost nil and therefore this type of meters can be used for measuring suspensions, including mud, sewage, pulp, etc. They are not very much affected by upstream flow disturbances. These meters can be used as bidirectional meters. They are practically unaffected by variation in density, viscosity, pressure & temperature.
